Founded in 2003, Simply Switch built a strong reputation as a UK price comparison site across energy, broadband and finance. But by 2024, years of accumulated legacy content and multiple Google core updates had eroded its visibility — organic traffic was in steep decline, tracking setups were outdated, and the content strategy lacked focus.
When we came on board in June 2025, the objective was clear: clean up the noise, rebuild the foundation, and make Simply Switch competitive again.

Integrated server-rendered tariff tables via The Energy Shop API, refreshing every 10–15 minutes with transparent "last updated" timestamps to improve trust and freshness signals.
Removed 1,000+ outdated articles dragging down domain quality, refocusing the content strategy on high-value energy comparison queries like "cheapest energy supplier UK".
Used SEMrush and Search Console to build a live performance framework, benchmarking competitors and identifying content gaps to prioritise recovery efforts.
Connected Simply Switch's editorial platform with The Energy Shop's live tariff feed, strengthening authority for both brands via cross-domain relevance and technical collaboration.
Rebuilt Google Analytics 4 and Tag Manager setups from scratch, restoring tracking reliability and configuring event-based tracking to capture accurate user journeys.
Introduced cleaner reporting pipelines and dashboards, enabling data-driven decisions that continuously refine performance and connect organic activity to commercial ROI.
